The Washington Gas Residential New Construction Program supports the residential new construction industry in building increasingly energy efficient homes and units in eligible multifamily low-rise buildings within the Maryland Washington Gas service territory. To achieve this goal, the Program offers technical and sales/marketing training and support as well as incentives to homebuilders for homes and units that meet the criteria below.
To be eligible for Washington Gas Residential New Construction incentives, the home must first meet ENERGY STAR version 3.1 certification. For more information on EmPOWER Maryland ENERGY STAR Certified New Homes Programs, please visit ENERGY STAR New Homes.
For Homes permitted ON or AFTER July 1st, 2020 that meet ENERGY STAR version 3.1 certification, the following incentive structure will be in place:

All ENERGY STAR certified homes with eligible gas equipment must be submitted through the Ekotrope Portal.
The current Program cycle is from January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2023. Applications for Washington Gas Residential New Construction Program are accepted for each calendar year (i.e. 2021) and should be for homes that will be completed within the year the application is submitted.
